The governor automatically ensures that the oil/air mix in the burner is at an optimum level. A semiconductor room-thermostat with an electronic controller regulates the control mechanism of the governor. A servomotor rotates a cam that operates a control element in the oil supply regulator. An arresting magnet forms a second setting unit with the servomotor. When in its not arrested position, this second setting unit closes the control element of the oil supply regulator in any position of the cam when no voltage is applied to te servomotor. When in its arrested position, this second setting unit allows the servomotor with its cam to come into operation.
