A flexible pipe coupling (3), made of rubber or plastics, is reinforced with embedded fabric (5). The coupling sleeve ends have radial flanges (31) which on installation are clamped between a pipe flange (6) and a clamp ring (4). The sleeve flange is formed by folding back the edge on the sleeve. A core ring (8) is then trapped at the base of the loop so that it is located outside the pitch circle diameter of the clamp bolts (7, 9).
