Diaphragm contg. Ni for high pressure electrolysis has a porous support of PTFE, in which graphite is embedded, and a (partial) Ni coating on the surface, including the embedded graphite. The diaphragm is esp. useful in the electrolysis of water. It can be produced economically from relatively cheap materials and has good corrosion resistance, high wettability, low electrochemical resistance and low gas permeability.
