A process for the production of a mixture of nonadecane diols from oleyl alcohol under the conditions of oxosynthesis, in which oleyl alcohol, hydrogen and carbon monoxide are reacted together at 110 to 200 DEG C under a pressure of from 100 to 400 bars in the presence of a rhodium catalyst and a tertiary amine.
