PURPOSE:To provide lightweight and compact electrode, reduce the internal resistance of a battery, and enhance the battery performance by using metal mesh to the current collecting plate of a conductive highpolymer electrode consisting of a conductive highpolymer material film formed on the current collecting plate. CONSTITUTION:In the positive electrode 3 of a secondary battery a conductive highpolymer material film, for ex. polypyrrole highpolymer film 2, is formed on metal mesh 1. Propylene carbonate liquid in which for ex. LiBF41M is dissolved, is used as electrolyte 5. Thereby an energy efficiency of 93% is obtained in charging/discharging with for ex. a charging/discharging current of 1.875mA and a capacity of 0.94mA.h. Use of 80 stainless steel mesh for ex. to the current collecting plate should reduce both weight and volume example of the material for the conductive highpolymer are pyrrole derivative, aniline, and thiophene, or their derivatives.
