The electrical safety plug prevents access to contact pins for children at play and has a cup-shaped housing holding a similar insert which is fixed axially. The insert, however, can tilt about the common axis and its bottom has two holes for plug pins (20). The main housing (24) features diametrically opposite flats (14) and projections (18) engaged by lugs (40) on the sides of the insert (26). The insert is also provided with earthing clips the yoke of which runs on the back of its bottom and is attached to a metal sleeve. The ends of the clips engage grooves of the plug, the grooves extending over an arc covering the tilt of the insert.
