PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide purification of recombinant iduronate-2-sulfatase.SOLUTION: The invention provides, among other things, an improved method for purifying I2S protein produced by recombination for enzyme replacement therapy. The invention is, in part, based on a surprising discovery that the recombinant I2S protein can be purified from unprocessed biomaterials such as a cell culture medium containing I2S by using as few as four chromatography columns. Approved existing purification process of recombinant I2S for enzyme replacement therapy involves six chromatography columns.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
