The input signal (E) to the detection circuit goes to both terminals of a differential comparator (V). The gain and offset at the positive terminal is determined by resistors (R3, R4, R5, R6) and the time response at the negative terminal is delayed by a resistor capacitor lag (R2, C1). The time constant of the resistor capacitor network is much faster than the expected rate of change of the incoming base signal so that only sudden impulses trigger the comparator. The size of the trigger threshold can vary according to the base voltage magnitude. Together with a similar negative detector, the circuit is suitable for monitoring the current in a solenoid valve.
|
