PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method capable of obtaining a high-quality image over a long period of time; and a process cartridge.SOLUTION: An image forming method includes: a charging step 8 of charging an image carrier 7; an electrostatic latent image formation step of forming an electrostatic latent image on the image carrier; a development step 9 of developing the electrostatic latent image with a toner to form a toner image; and a transfer step 4 of transferring the toner image onto a transfer material 2. The toner has a toner having toner particles containing a binder resin and a colorant, and an external additive A. A number average particle diameter (D1) of the external additive A is 70 nm or more and 500 nm or less. A zeta potential ζ (A) of the external additive A when the external additive A is dispersed in water is -50 mV or more and -15 m or less. The image carrier has a support, an undercoat layer formed on the support, and a photosensitive layer formed on the undercoat layer. The undercoat layer has a volume resistivity of 1×10Ω cm or more and 1×10Ω cm or less, and contains an organic electron transporting compound.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
