PURPOSE:To pseparate leukocyte groups (L) into T lymphocytes, granulocytes, monocyte groups, and B lymphocyte groups, by treating L with a specific adsorbent having carboxyl groups. CONSTITUTION:T lymphocytes, granulocytes, monocytes, and B lymphocyte group are separated from a solution comprising suspended leukocytes with 100mueq. or less of an adsorbent having carboxyl groups on 1ml of a water-insoluble solid substances, e.g. cellulose fibers or glass particles. The adsorbent is believed to adsorb only T lymphocytes by the affinity for the receptor part present only on the T lymphocyte membrane not on B lymphocyte membrane. Thus, T and B lymphocytes in the lymphocyte groups can be separated without damaging the cell wall and function. |
