A brake control lever mounting for a lorry and trailer has the lever moving through a slot formed in a metal pressing, and with special lips or tags (31, 29) pressed into the sides of the slot. These serve to locate the position of the lever at the end of the braking movements and prior to moving to the emergency braking and parking positions. The tags provide a simple control of the end travel of the brake lever in the different modes. It enables different drivers to assume maximum control. The brake lever is moved axially to pass the stops.
