A simple dioptre viewfinder for a low cost camera has a viewing groove (3) along one top edge of the camera housing and a pull out viewing frame (4) at the front corner in line with the groove. The user looks along the groove to position the subject in the centre of the viewing frame. The frame pulls out diagonally from the front of the camera on a spring loaded guide (1). It has a cut-away lower corner to fit into the camera shape when extended. A recess in the camera housing provides a finger grip for the frame. In the retracted position the frame forms a lens protection.
