New process is claimed for simultaneous determin of the content of N, P and K nitrogen, phosphous, potassium in plants and fertilisers by neutron irradiation specimens to be analysed and of control specimens, subsequent spectral registration of induced gamma radiation, and determn of the N, P and K concn. from the spectra obtd. After the first spectral registration, the specimen to be analysed and the control specimen are stored for a time period determined by the half-life of an intrifering isotope. Spectral registration of both specimens is then repeated. For both the specimen to be analysed and the control specimen, the two spectra are superimposed, and the contents of the elements under analysis are determined by comparison of the superimposed spectra of the specimen to be analysed and the control specimen. Improved accuracy is obtd attributed to consideration of both energy distribution of the gamma radiation and its change with time.
