Reforming catalysts comprise 0.01-3 wt.% Pt-group metal, 0.01-3 wt.% Ir, 0.1-3 wt.% halogen and 0.001-3 wt.% Se component, all composited with an inorganic oxide support. Incorporation of the Se component obviates the need for presulphiding and thus avoids problems associated with improper sulphiding. The Se component suppresses hydrocracking and increases the C5+ and aromatic yields compared with unsulphided catalysts not contg. se.
