<p>A portable containerised biological sewage treatment plant for use during large meetings, manoeuvres, motorway car parks, camping sites etc. consists of a container of standard dimensions in which a semi-immersed revolving drum in one half represents the biological treatment. A motor on top of a partition drives the drum through a chain and sprocket. A pipe connects this tank to a settling tank in the other half which is fitted with a motor driven spider of raking arms. The collected sludge can be discharged or recycled. Such a plant is readily transportable by a truck trailer or even by air freight. It takes over the peak load of stationary plant and quickly installed.</p> |
