The present invention relates to a method of inputting a character through a touch screen. According to the present invention, in the method of inputting the character through the touch screen, capable of realizing at least one basic area having a consonant area at the center thereof with respect to each of different consonants, as a touch is inputted into one of consonant areas included in a plurality of basic areas, a drag input is received into an input area divided by a plurality of vowels surrounding a selected consonant, and the touched consonant and the dragged vowel, which corresponds to final coordinates, are combined with each other so that one Korean character is input. Accordingly, there is a screen image and contents changed and displayed as soon as the touch occurs, the contents of a screen image to be displayed before the touch are dragged into a window of a screen image newly displayed together with the touch, so that the contents displayed before the touch and the contents of the newly displayed screen image are combined to input the character. Accordingly, the continuity of character input can be ensured without the disconnection of the input of a character unit. |
