The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating dementia, comprising a fermented extract of aronia as an active ingredient, and relates to a manufacturing method of a fermented extract of aronia, which can maximize a bioactive substance contained in aronia by going through various processes. In the case of using the method of the present invention, the method increases antioxidant activities in comparison with an ethanol extract or a hot water extract, inhibits acetylcholine esterase activities, has excellent activities of protecting nerve cells of the brain, and has effects in using the same for improving recognition ability and alleviating dementia. |
