PURPOSE:To enable the image of good gradation characteristic to be obtained in one-component type development method by keeping the latent image potential below the insulation breakdown voltage of toner layers. CONSTITUTION:In the development method of turning the electrostatic latent image on a photoreceptor to a sensible image by using one-component type developer, the charge voltage V to be applied to the photoreceptor is kept below the insulation breakdown voltage determined depending upon the resistance value of the one- component type developer used or the thickness of the toner layers formed on the sleeve, so that even at the latent image maximum voltage portions of the photoreceptor all the charged flowing at the time of developing the latent image maximum voltage portions contribute to the development and do not contain any leak portion. These enable the soft image of good gradation characteristic to be formed. |
