The handbrake lever pulls the middle pivot of a double armed lever whose ends are linked to cable drives by adjustable fittings. One cable runs to the front wheel brakes and the other to the rear wheel brakes. The rear wheel brakes are further fitted with a double armed lever operated in a similar way by a footbrake linkage, with one end of the lever linked to the rear brakes and the other end to the front wheel brakes by a third cable drive. The cable drives are arranged so that the handbrake or footbrake operate both front and rear brakes together. If both controls are operated together then only the front brake operates.
|
