Disclosed are a system and a method for preventing phishing by using character recognition and search engine ranking information, capable of preventing a user from unexpectedly accessing a phishing site when the user accesses a site using a quick response (QR) code recognition function or a near field communication (NFC) function of a smartphone. The phishing preventing method includes: a step of receiving, though a user terminal, a first site URL recognized in the QR code or the NFC tag, and a first site name and a second site URL as a text recognized in a character recognition function of the user terminal; a step of transmitting a search request using the first site name as a keyword to a search engine; a step of comparing a third site URL included in the search result with the first site URL and the second site URL by receiving the search result performed according to the search request; and a step of determining whether access to the site using the first site URL is performed, based on the URL comparison result. |
