PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safer and simpler manufacturing method of a bishydroxymethyl furan compound than conventional methods and the bishydroxymethyl furan compound manufactured by the manufacturing method.SOLUTION: There are provided a manufacturing method of a bishydroxymethyl furan compound for manufacturing the bishydroxymethyl furan compound represented by the following formula (2) by reacting a furan compound represented by the following formula (1) and formaldehyde in a presence of a weak acid catalyst and the bishydroxymethyl furan compound manufactured by the manufacturing method.SELECTED DRAWING: None
