PURPOSE:To generate an accurate melody from an electronic wrist watch with simple construction and low power consumption by reading melody information from a memory by play start and continuation signals and controlling a variable frequency divider or the like to which a multiple frequency signal is applied when the continuation signal exists. CONSTITUTION:When an alarm time reaches, a continuation signal is applied through a coincidence detector 7 for generating a coincidence output, a switch S1 and an OR gate 8 and the like to a differentiator 10. The differentiator 10 then generates a melody play start signal. Melody data stored in a ROM 19 is read through a program counter 20 by the melody play start signal to control the frequency dividing ratio of a variable frequency divider 15 to which the output of a time oscillator 1 is applied in response to the melody data through a data register 22, an acoustic decoder 23, an AND gate 9 opened by the continuation signal via a frequency dividing ratio converter 24 or the like, and multiplying and/or delay circuits 11-14. Since only the oscillation output is thus applied thereto at necessary time without oscillator for exclusive use in a simple construction, it can generate an accurate melody sound with low power consumption. |
