PURPOSE:To reduce leak light outputted from the port of the waveguide type optical switch and to improve crosstalk by guiding leak light which is generated when signal light passes through a 1st control optical switch into a substrate by a 2nd control optical switch. CONSTITUTION:Waveguides 22, 24, and 28 are waveguides for guiding light signals from ports 22a and 24a to ports 22b and 24b, or waveguides for guiding light signals from the ports 22b and 24b to the ports 22a and 24a. Further, control optical switches 30a-30d are used as 1st control optical switches for selecting a waveguide for guiding signal light or as the 2nd control optical switches for guiding the leak light into the substrate 20. Consequently, the leak light is prevented from being outputted from the output ports 22a, 22b, 24a, and 24b of the waveguide optical switches 18 to light circuit elements of a following stage. |
