Title compd.(I; R1, R2 and R3 are H, lower alkyl, cyano, halogen or phenyl; Z = C2-4 alkylene) was prepd. by cyclization of N-(3'-thienyl)-N'-aminoalkyl-thiourea(II; A = O or S). Thus, a soln, of 1.02 ml brom in 15 ml acetic acid was dropped in a soln. of 1.8 g 2-(4'methylthienyl-3'-amino)-1,3-diazacyclopentane-(2) in 15 ml acetic acid at room temp., and stirred for 20 min to give 2-(2',5'-dibromo-4'methylthienyl-3'-amino)-1, 3-diazacyclopenene-(2) (m.p. 224-225oC).
