PURPOSE:To provide a high energy density battery which can be made small easily, by employing an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, etc. as the negative active material and 7, 7, 8, 8-tetracyanoquinodimethane through the electrolyte as the positive active material. CONSTITUTION:An alkali metal, or alkaline earth metal, or an alloy thereof is employed as the negative active material 4 which is filled on the bottom plate 3 made of stainelss steel in the case. The separator 5 is placed on the negative active material 4. The separator is impregnated with the electrolytic solution prepared by dissolving an electrolyte (such as ammonia) and the negative active material 4 (such as metal salt of inorganic or organic acid) in a solvent (such as water, and dimethylformamide). Ajdacent to this is filled 7, 7, 8, 8-tetracyanoquinodimethane as the positive active material 6. |
