PURPOSE:To obtain a solenoid whose hysteresis in the movement of back and forth is small by opposing the pole faces of one fixed magnetic pole to the large-diameter portions of a plunger, and arranging the pole faces of the other magnetic pole at the opposing positions to the other large-diameter portions, with the phase being shifted. CONSTITUTION:A plunger 2, which has four large-diameter portions 2a-2d and can slide in the axial direction, is provided in a cylindrical frame 1 having the bottom. Pole faces 3a and 3b are arranged at the concentric positions opposing the large-diameter portions 2a and 2b around the axis of the plunger. A positioning fixed pole 3 in which a coil 4 is wound is provided, and a fixed coil 5 in which a coil 6 is wound in the direction opposite to the coil 4 is provided. When a current is flowed in a coil 6, lines of magnetic force, which are generated around the coil, sequentially flows from a pole face 5d to the large-diameter portion 2d, to the large- diameter portion 2c, and to a pole face 5c. The uniform attracting force acts on the large-diameter portions 2c and 2d in the direction of the redius, and the component of the force in the axial direction moves the plunger to the right. The plunger stops at the position where the attracting forces of the positioning-fixed-magnetic poles 5 and 3 are balanced. |
