In an add-on ski appliance, a retaining apparatus is releasably pushed onto each of the two ski tips, these retaining apparatuses being connected to each other by a bar (4). The two ends of the bar (4) are designed as spherical heads (19), each of which is supported in a two-part ball socket in a housing (6) of the retaining apparatus. One of the halves (15) of the ball socket is displaceably arranged in the housing (6) and is pressed by adjustable springs towards the fixed half (14), as a result of which the release moment is determined at which a spherical head (19) is released from the ball socket. <IMAGE>
