<p>The prop has a body (1) and an internal sliding tube (7), with regularly spaced holes (12) and a spindle (13) to alter and lock the prop at variable lengths. Inside an internally threaded socket (16) is a threaded muff of double internal dia. which grips the body and prevents the tube from being pulled out unless the tube base plate is unbolted. The tube base plate carries a flat double wing plate that penetrates slots in the base (2) when the tube is pressed fully down, and turns to engage the base so that the tube is locked during transport.</p> |
