PURPOSE:To convert the harmonics into signal frequency component and to increase the saturated output power, by providing the sub-waveguide in response to the fractional and harmonic waves of input, separated from the input and output waveguide of signal, in the coaxial waveguide conversion type negative resistance amplifier. CONSTITUTION:The coaxial line is constituted with the supply rod 2 and the external conductor 3 supplying bias voltage to the negative resistance diode 1, and the size of the sub-waveguide 11 is determined so that either one of frequencies of fractional and harmonic waves of the input signal can be within the normal pass- band. When the bias voltage is fed and operation is made as an amplifier by adding input signal from the standard rectangular waveguide 7, fractional and harmonic waves appear with the non-linearity of the negative resistance 1 by the increase of the input signal and enter the coaxial line. A part of the power enters the sub- waveguide 11 and the moving short-circuit unit 12 is adjusted, then the fractional and harmonic waves return again to the negative resistor 1, and they are converted into the input signal component and the saturated output power can be increased without being consumed as heat loss. |
