Hydraulic or pneumatic filter element - with perforated disc screwed into thread by deformed peripheral slit

A filter element for use in pressurised pneumatic or hydraulic systems is fitted into a threaded bore in a casing. The filter element is a perforated disc which is screwed into the thread to a depth where other apparatus, e.g. a valve, can be screwed into the thread. The disc has on its periphery a small radial slit and the adjacent triangular corners are bent up in opposite direction to stimulate the pitch of the internal thread. The pref. material for the disc is an elastic plastic or a filter screen mesh. This is a simple and low-cost filter which takes up little axial space and is easy to mount and to dismantle.
