The simplified thermopile ensures a cost reduction and uses clamped plates instead of welded joints to provide the electric contact. This leads to low manufacturing costs since the plates can be cut to size or stamped for the pile assembly. The pairs of the thermopile are made up of copper and constant or other combination of metals, including the semiconductor types. Clamping is made with interposed contact strips and insulators while extension ribs provide the necessary cooling of the cold junction. The insulation layers (4) between the element plates (1/2) either extend to full length except for the contact strip (3), or leave a central cavity between the plates. The cavity can be used for cooling.
|
