The input voltage is connected to a moving coil meter by means of a bridge rectifier and a tee filter consisting of two series resistors and a centre capacitor. The filter attenuates alternating voltages so that the meter reads the correct value for a sinusoidal input as well as for a steady input which is not attenuated. The circuit does not require any switch to change from a measuring an alternating or a steady input.
