The hood (A) shades a television or similar screen from external light from above or to the sides. Tongues (D) on both sides of the hood engage in grooves (C) in the side of the display and permit the hood to be adjusted from a maximum shading to a retracted position where it is out of the way. The hood provides better viewing of the screen by removing reflected light and has increasing application with the popular use of video display terminals in the office.
