The automatic row control or depth guide is for digging tools on a beet harvester. The position of the digging tools in the row or the height of the digging tools to the soil surface is established by a sensor which switches a hydraulic system on and off, the hydraulic system acting on the position of the digging tool. A hydraulic feed back (11) is fitted to the adjusting hydraulics (10) of the wheels (17) of the digger (1). This so acts in opposition to the initial sensor deflection that it has a proportionality of the adjustment of the wheels (17) or the height adjustment of the digging tools.
