<p>The musical toy, suitable for teaching children the elements of music, has a platform in the form of an inverted tray, across which can be mounted a line of parallel rods. Each rod can produce a note when struck. Each rod is secured between two anchorage members. Across the top of the platform extends a line of fixed anchorage members and lower down is a line of adjustable anchorage members. Each lower member can be moved along a slot and locked in a position to grip a part of a rod to give a selected note. Thus a sequence of notes can be produced to form a tune. Each platform incorporates slots and lugs along the sides so that a number of platforms can be connected together in a line to allow an extended tune to be played.</p> |
