<p>Electric furnace comprising a melting chamber intended to receive the load and also containing at least one heating electrode. The melting chamber is divided into two parts, a lower part or tank (1) and an upper part or vault (2) simply placed onto the tank. The heating electrode or electrodes (4) are housed horizontally inside the vault (2) and are integral with the latter. Mechanical means are provided for vertically and horizontally separating the two parts, tank (1) and vault (2), from one another when loading, and to then bring them back together, as well as means for producing the decanting of the liquid metal from the tank, preferably by tipping. <IMAGE></p> |
