The polygonal container (1) has on its cylindrical container neck (3) individual projections (7) which are separate from one another. Said projections interact with projections (6) on the lid. The lid is fitted, with localised widening, onto the container neck (3) by merely pressing it on, its projections (6) sliding over those (7) of the container neck and then snapping in. For release, the lid (4) is turned. In this case, owing to its polygonal shape which has different radii (R3-R5), it soon strikes at one point (S4) against a conical stop (9) which prevents further self-acting unscrewing. For complete removal of the lid projections (6) from the container projections (7), the lid (4) has to be turned further, but in this case it is widened in a localised manner owing to the stop (9). However, the projections (6) are then free and the lid can be lifted off. The conical shape of the stop (9) simultaneously ensures that the lid is raised when it is let go, which indicates the unlocking. The advantage lies in less deformation work of the lid compared with known lids without the security against self-acting release being reduced. <IMAGE>
