For the purpose of mounting the terminal block either on a symmetrical, e.g. 35 mm wide, top hat rail (7) or on an asymmetric C-profile support rail (8), four juxtaposed flexible locating hooks (9, 10, 11, 12) are integrally formed on the terminal block housing (1). The two outer locating hooks (9, 12) are used to mount the terminal block on the symmetrical top hat rail (7). The two inner locating hooks (10, 11) permit the terminal block to be snapped onto the asymmetric C-profile support rail. The outer locating hook (9) is connected by a connecting web (13) to the inner locating hook (10) located nearer to it. This connecting web (13) is arranged on the locating hooks (9, 10) directly at the edge of the receptacles (14) intended for the support webs of the support rails (7, 8), forms a component of the entire insulating housing (1), and also serves as a stop for the support rails (7, 8). The connecting web (13) between the locating hooks (9, 10) permits material to be saved on these locating hooks. <IMAGE>
