The invention relates mainly to a double free wheel (13) comprising an internal track (14) and an external track, one of the tracks (14) communicating with an input to the free wheel and the other track (14) communicating with an output from the free wheel, at least one rotary element (21) being interposed radially between the internal track (14) and the external track, characterized in that with the rotary element (21) being positioned between two inclines (P1, P2) facing one another and having opposite inclinations with respect to one another, a control device is able to cause the free wheel to switch from a coupled state leaving free the rotary element (21) then able to run along one of the inclines (P1, P2) to jam between the internal (14) and external tracks so that the input and the output are rotationally connected to one another in one direction of rotation or the other, into an uncoupled state keeping the rotary element (21) at the centre of the two inclines (P1, P2) to prevent said rotary element (21) from running along one of the inclines (P1, P2) so that the input and the output are free to rotate one relative to the other and vice versa.
