PURPOSE:To enable to exchange a worn cutting edge with a fresh cutting edge speedily and safely by a method wherein an engaging means engageable with the cutting edge is provided on a moving body installed on a truck for exchanging the cutting edge at a rolled steel plate cutting device. CONSTITUTION:A pair of upper and lower cutting edges 1, 2 cut a slab being transferred therto along a transfer line A. A truck 3 for exchanging is reciprocatingly movable on rails 4 and a cutting edge push-pull device 5 is arranged at a position pinching the truck 3 and opposing to the cutting edges 1, 2. The device 5 is constituted with a fixed cylindrical body 21, a moving cylindrical body 22 movably inserted therewithin, edge push-pull cylinder devices 23, 24 connected to the cylindrical body 22 with pins and push-pull blocks 25, 26 secured to tip portions of piston rods 23b, 24b. According to this constitution, worn cutting edges 1, 2 may be exchanged with fresh cutting edges 8, 9 speedily and safely. |
