PURPOSE:The desulfurizer for molten iron obtained by mixing a specific propertion of the black powder mat byproduced in the Al refining with quicklime. CONSTITUTION:5-30wt% black powder mat produced as byproduct in the electrolytic refining of Al and 70-95% of quicklime are mixed in a powder state. Quicklime may contain about 3-15% CaCO3 without any problem and the powder collected from the auxiliary material charging hopper in a blast furnace may be used as well. This desulfurizer is added at 2-7kg per ton of molten iron of 1250- 1350 deg.C and the molten iron is stirred for about 10-12min to occomplish the desulfurization by allowing the desulfurizer to contact intimetely with the molten iron. |
