1389859 Optically active salts of 3-fluoro-D- alanine MERCK & CO Inc 13 June 1972 [18 June 1971 3 Feb 1972] 13200/74 Divided out of 1389858 Heading C2C Novel salts of 3-fluoro-D-alanine or its deutero analogues, and carboxyl-protected or amino-protected derivatives thereof, with optically active acids or bases are obtained by conventional methods by treating a DL-racemate of 3-fluoro-alanine, or appropriate derivative, with an optically active acid or base and fractionally separating the mixture of salts. The separated optically active salt of 3-fluoro-D- alanine (or protected derivative) may be treated with strong base or acid, as appropriate, to liberate the free 3-fluoro-D-alanine, deutero analogue or carboxy- or amino-protected derivative from the salt. |
