Signal processor for electronic musical instrument - divides pilot frequency into required number of intervals

The signal processor has a first counter (Cp) counting a given number of periods of a pilot frequency. A memory (B) stores the number of periods counted by the counter. A second counter (CA) receives the first counter's output and produces the desired signal whose period is divided into M steps each corresponding to one cycle of the first counter. The second counter (CA) also produces a control signal which defines the number of cycles counted at any instant by the first counter during one of the desired signal. A synthesiser develops a signal composed of M steps.
