The reverse-rotation lock is for a plain, ball- or roller-bearing, having an inner body with circular peripheral face enclosed by a concentric outer ring, a wedge-shaped chamber being formed between the two and accommodating a clamping body. The wedge-shaped recess (1) in the one component contains a ball (2), whose diameter is smaller than the maximum distance between the surfaces forming the chamber. On reverse rotation of one of the components, the ball rolls over the downwards-sloping ramp face (9) solely under its own weight.
