A mixer valve for hot and cold water has fixed valve plate (14) and a coaxial movable valve plate (18). The rotary motion of the movable plate is produced by the manually operated control knob (24). When the valve is opened, the cold water flow (2) reaches its full volume. Further control knob rotation then adds hot water to the flow without increasing the flow volume. A return flow to a low pressure tank (7) is provided so that the original flow volume can be maintained.
