Sausage skin gathering machine - with imbalance of gathering head compensated by counterweight

The Parent Patent No. 2646848 described a machine for the concertina-like gathering of plastic hose material, esp. for synthetic skin in the mfr. of sausages, by a central mandrel and four eccentrically revolving gathering rollers. A V-belt pulley, driven by an electric motor is supported rotatably around the mandrel centre line and supports itself through a bearing the gathering head with a small eccentricity. A counterbalance weight on the pulley compensated for the created unbalance. The unbalance compensation permits a much higher speed so that the capacity of the device is substantially increased.
