Seal for outlet of bulk material rail wagon - has flat and contoured plastics foil welded together, giving air-filled pads on one side

The sealing strip (1) is intended for sealing a long closable outlet opening e.g. in a rail wagon for transporting bulk material. The movable closure member has a long straight edge which in the closed position is in contact with a flat panel. It consists of at least two layers (3, 4) of plastics foil material which are welded together (6) and between them enclose a large number of gas-filled cavities (2) creating a large number of resilient pads (5) on one side. The strip is pref. secured, with pads down, on the fixed flat panel so that the closure member sealingly engages the unpadded layer (3).
