<p>Provision is made for isolating a belt conveyor in a mine in connection with ventilation, the upper belt runs on inclined outer rollers and one or more horizontal centre rollers the lower one being led back on horizontal ones. The air-lock unit has a hood-type attachment (8). Cantilevered slopping cover plates (10) extend from the sidewalls of this, down to below the upper belt (3). The plates incorporates recesses to accommodate the upper parts of the outer rollers (2). Recesses can be rectangular, with short shanks towards the air-lock, and long ones across it. Construction is simple, and the conveyor is effectively sealed off.</p> |
