Sailing surfboard rig with boom in sail pocket - has spar handholds either side with after ends linked by plate with slot for boom

The sailboard rig is of essentially known type, and incorporates an unstayed, universal-joint mounted mast (12). There is a flexible boom in a pocket in the sail and handholds either side from the mast to the after end of the boom. These handholds are now spars (44) with their after ends linked by a plate (52) with a slot for the boom (30) giving a close but sliding fit. The plate is substantially perpendicular to the planes both of the two spars and the sail (10). There is an extra outhaul (58) from the plate to the boom end.
