Conveyor and transmission belt - using rubber embedded parallel stranded aramid ropes of stiffened monofilaments

A band for use as conveyor belt or transmission belt consists of rubber with embedded pull assorbing elements, consisting of several parallel multi-strand ropes. The strands are composed of stiffened monofilaments, produced by dipping a synthetic resin thread into self-hardening resin compound. The pref. material for the monofilaments is aramide ('KEVLAR', RTM) with each of the seven strands in a 1 x 6 to 1 x 18 design and with a fineness of 1670 or 2500 dtex.; Such belts are not subject to corrosive attack like those with steel rope inserts. They weigh up to one-third less, require a less driving power and can be mfd. a lower cost.
